WASHINGTON D.C. — Incumbent Congressman for Utah’s First Congressional District Blake Moore was on KVNU’s For the People program on Friday and talked about what he’s been hearing from voters.

“What I’m hearing a lot from voters is they’re ready for this election season to be done, to be honest.   Most people are ready to get Tuesday in our rear-view mirror and figure out what to do from there. But I think the same lingering issues exist, right?  And you saw numerous bad outcomes from President Biden’s time in the White House, and it stems from inflation,”  Moore said.

He said there’s the very heavy spending policy by Biden and the congressional-led Democrats.

“Until we took over in the House in 2022, before Republicans won a very narrow majority, President Biden had led over $5 trillion net new dollars of spending. And to anybody that’s surprised that there was inflation after that amount of government spending, they’re not paying attention to why in the world the inflation happened. There’s really only one major reason in it, it only stems to over government spending.”

Moore said immigration continues to plague the nation and people want change.  As election day is upon us, he hopes the House majority is maintained and that a Senate majority  will happen so that the majority leader is no longer Chuck Schumer.

Challenging Moore are Democrat Bill Campbell and Libertarian candidate Daniel R. Cottam.
