LOGAN — A 24-year-old Mendon man has confessed to downloading child pornography over a popular social media app. Dylan Ray Wood accepted a plea deal that will likely keep him from being sent to prison.
According to court records, Wood appeared Nov. 4 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, a third-degree felony. 54 remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
According to prosecutors, Wood engaged in online conversations on Snapchat with multiple minors. He would request and exchange nude images with them.
The crimes occurred for several months between 2023 and 2024. They continued until he was arrested in September.
As part of the plea deal, Wood waived his right to a fair trial and agreed to complete sex-offender treatment. Attorneys will recommend a jail term instead of prison at sentencing.
Wood is currently out of jail on pretrial release. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 13.
