LOGAN — A man was found dead inside a car Monday morning in Logan Canyon, US-89. The death was reported at 8:15 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Franklin Basin parking lot, near milepost 484.

According to emergency radio communication, a citizen had pulled into the parking lot and noticed a Subaru Forrester partially blocking the lot. The driver went up to the vehicle to knock on the window, and saw a man in the driver’s seat unresponsive.

The citizen drove to the Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, where they called 911. He told dispatch operators that it appeared the man had been dead for some time.

Paramedics and deputies were dispatched to the scene. They confirmed the man was deceased.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Ramirez said deputies do not suspect the death was a homicide and there is no threat to the community. The victim was the only occupant in the vehicle. His identity is not being released, pending notification of family.

The incident remains under investigation.
