LOGAN — A 27-year-old Logan man was arrested after his neighbor allegedly caught him breaking into their home, near Lundstrom Park.

Stephen Clarke was booked into the Cache County Jail Sunday night on one count of burglary and three counts of theft. He was released after posting bail.

Logan City Police Capt. Tyson Budge said a neighbor of Clarke’s called investigators after they recorded him allegedly breaking into their home and stealing money.

The neighbor set up a video camera after noticing money began disappearing from a safe in the home. Last weekend while on vacation, the neighbors watched the camera’s footage and saw a man they believed to be Clarke taking money from the safe and rummaging through other items in the home.

Budge said when police interviewed Clarke he confessed to stealing the cash.

The neighbor’s claim $4380 has been stolen.

The case has been turned over to the Cache County Attorney’s Office for review.
