LOGAN — A 46-year-old Logan man has been arrested for allegedly peering into a woman’s window while she was taking a shower, according to law enforcement. Jose Atilio Ramos was booked last Friday into the Cache County Jail.

According to an arrest affidavit, Logan City Police were called to an apartment complex on report of a man peeping into a woman’s window. He then allegedly opened the window, supposedly to try and get a better view.

The woman told officers she was taking a shower in her bathroom, when she allegedly saw the suspect peeking through and opening the window. The man had reportedly pulled his pants down and was inappropriately touching himself.

When police arrived, they made contact with the suspect, who still had his pants down. He was later identified as Ramos, according to the probable cause statement.

On Wednesday, prosecutors with the Cache County Attorney’s Office filed a criminal case against Ramos in Logan’s 1st District Court. They charged him with burglary of a dwelling, a second-degree felony; voyeurism, a class A misdemeanor; and lewdness, a class B misdemeanor.

According to court records, Ramos was released from jail shortly after being booked. An arraignment hearing hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
