LOGAN — A 22-year-old Logan man has admitted to sexually assaulting a woman 18 months ago, telling police at the time that he couldn’t stop himself. Ashton Cooper Robanske was arrested in January 2025 following an investigation by the Logan City Police Department.

According to court records, Robanske appeared March 11 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He waived his right to a trial and accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. He also pleaded guilty to sexual battery, a class A misdemeanor, in a case that occurred while he was a juvenile.

According to prosecutors, police were called to investigate a delayed sexual assault on Oct. 31, 2024. The victim stated how Robanske, whom she had previously been in a relationship with, had sexually assaulted her while at his home on Sept. 18.

The woman explained how Robanske had forced himself on her, pinning her leg and arm down. He then began molesting her, as she reportedly told him “no” and to “stop.”

The victim said Robanske reportedly apologized after the incident, sending her messages that he should not have done what he did. She also provided officers with Snapchat logs, corroborating her account of what happened.

On Dec. 31, 2024, police questioned Robanske. He reportedly admitted that what he had done was wrong. He stated he could not control himself, and was scared now after what he did.

Robanske is schedule to be sentenced April 29.
