Orozco-Rubio appeared April 28 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child, amended to a second-degree felony. In exchanged for plea, eight remaining charges were dismissed.

According to prosecutors, a woman contacted Logan City Police officers in January 2022, reporting years of sexual abuse by Orozco-Rubio, who was a close family member. The abuse occurred for around six years after the defendant moved to Logan from Mexico.

The defendant, who would have been between 16 and 20-years-old at the time, was charged with groping and sexually abusing the girl regularly.
