LOGAN — A 25-year-old Logan man was arrested Saturday following a police investigation into allegations that he raped and stalked a former partner, according to court documents.
William McLogan Chamberlain was booked into the Cache County Jail on suspicion of first-degree felony rape and third-degree felony stalking of a current or former cohabitant. Both counts are listed as domestic violence offenses.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Logan police were assigned the case on Feb. 23. The victim told investigators that she began dating Chamberlain in June 2025. She reported that during one encounter, she made it clear she did not want to have sex and pulled away. Chamberlain then forcefully dragged her back to the end of the bed, pinned her arms, and assaulted her.
The affidavit states that the victim later sent Chamberlain a text message stating, “Maybe you shouldn’t have raped me.”. Chamberlain allegedly replied, “I agree I have apologized for that And stated that that was unacceptable.”. Investigators also noted a written statement from the suspect acknowledging his failures regarding consent.
Following their breakup, Chamberlain’s behavior allegedly escalated into stalking. The victim and a friend reported multiple instances of unwanted contact, including a 2:38 a.m. incident where Chamberlain allegedly used a door code to enter the apartment uninvited while they slept. He also allegedly monitored the apartment from the parking lot and showed up at a party after being explicitly told not to attend.
Chamberlain made an initial appearance Monday in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was granted bail, under the conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim and appear again in court July 8.
Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
