LOGAN — A Logan man has been arrested and faces multiple charges after allegedly abusing a 9-year-old boy and confessing to the acts during a police interview.

Eddie Thomas Foulger, 30, was arrested Friday by the Logan City Police Department. He is currently being held at the Cache County Jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, the investigation began on October 12 after the child’s father contacted law enforcement. The father reported that Foulger, a family friend, had been at their home over the weekend. While the father was briefly outside, Foulger allegedly entered the victim’s bedroom. The child later disclosed to his father that Foulger had touched him inappropriately and taken photos.

In the presence of law enforcement officers, the father called Foulger to confront him. During the recorded phone call, Foulger reportedly admitted to molesting the boy and initially denied, but later admitted to, taking photos and subsequently deleting them.

Logan police later contacted Foulger and advised him of his Miranda rights. According to the affidavit, Foulger stated he had done something “naughty” and explicitly confessed to touching the child. He also admitted to taking and deleting photos of the victim.

Arresting officers have requested that Foulger be held without bail, citing substantial evidence and stating that his release would pose a danger to the community. He will likely be arraigned Monday afternoon in Logan’s 1st District Court.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
