LOGAN — A 24-year-old Logan man has been arrested for allegedly committing a lewd act in the parking lot of a church while children were nearby, according to law enforcement. Kyle Clark Thornock was booked Monday morning into the Cache County Jail after deputies were called to the incident.

According to the arrest affidavit, Cache County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a male inappropriately touching himself in the church parking lot. Several witnesses were nearby at the time, including children under the age of 14.

Deputies questioned the man, who identified himself as Thornock. He reportedly admitted to the accusations after waiving his Miranda Rights.

The report explained, given the fact that the suspect admitted to the offense and the fact there were several adult and juvenile witnesses, Thornock was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Jail records indicate, Thornock was booked on suspicion of two misdemeanors for lewdness and lewdness involving a child. He was later released from jail after posting $1,380 bond.

Formal charges are pending the completion of the law enforcement’s investigation.

Court records show, Thornock has no criminal history.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
