LOGAN — The Cache Valley Crushers recently participated in the Utah State Shoot and many of their members took top awards in different categories.

According to assistant coach J.R. Nostrom, Waylon Thompson and Brontae Carlson each won the High Senior Boys and Girls Skeet respectively. Lexie Thompson was awarded the High Over All Girl. Wylie Jensen achieved the High Over All Junior Boy and won the high score in trap, winning a shoot off where he hit 25 clay pigeons straight.

The Crushers are a Scholastic Clay Target Program that meet weekly at the Cache Valley Hunter Education Center. They promote education, safe shooting and good sportsmanship, while practicing trap, skeet and sporting clays.

Nostrom said, during the Utah State Shoot the senior team took first-place in Skeet and Sporting Clays, and second in Trap. The junior team took both first and second in the same categories.

The Crushers are now preparing to compete in the Buffalo Bill Cody shoot, held July 7-10 in Cody, Wyoming.

Participants for the shoot were: Jeremy Carlson, Brontae Carlson, Waylon Thompson, Koltin Kunzler, Braedin Hill, Austin Brown, Trae Larocco, Hunter Thompson, Tyler Baldwin, Lexie Thompson, Andrew Wright,,Wiley Jensen, Lindie Jensen, Ammon Shultz, Titus Shadegg, Robert Maughn, Skylar Stokes, and Bryce Christensen.

Their Crushers Head Coach is Robert Blanchard. Assistant coaches are Verl Hanchet, Shane Hansen, Russ Liechty, and J.R. Nostrom.
