BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — The Little Mountain Fire burning west of Bear River City and Corinne expanded to an estimated 560 acres Friday morning, with firefighting crews reaching 75% containment.
Incident commanders reported the updated size, up from earlier estimates of 300 to 320 acres, as crews worked to secure the fire perimeter. The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
To allow emergency vehicles unimpeded access to the area, officials closed the Box Elder County Landfill on Thursday afternoon.
