LOGAN – Friday, September 12, more than 400 students attended the first-ever Dare Mighty things —Together! Summit on the Utah State University campus, where Erin Clark, co-author of Leading Through, spoke about human-centered leadership.
She discussed how effective leadership is rooted in human connection, contrasting the “power over” paradigm with “leading through,” which emphasizes unleashing power with and through others.
She introduced metaphors of soul, heart, and mind to restore humanity to organizations and leadership, and described love, inspiration, vitality and connection as essential elements for human thriving.
Clark’s central invitation was to ask in every interaction, “Do they know that I care?”
She emphasized the only way through is to lead with love, underscoring that daring mighty things is not an individual pursuit but something we must do together.
Following Clark’s keynote, Kristyn Allred, associate dean for student affairs at The Huntsman School of Business, led a panel discussion with student leaders.
