LOGAN — Law enforcement has set up a crime scene investigation after a man’s body was discovered Friday morning in Logan Canyon. The body was located around 8:30 a.m. in the Franklin Basin parking lot.

Cache County Sheriff Chad Jensen said a hunter found the body while walking in the area, and asked other people to call 911.

Deputies and paramedics were dispatched to the area and confirmed the victim was deceased.

Investigators from the State Crime Lab have also been called in to help.

Jensen said the Franklin Basin parking lot has been closed while investigators gather evidence from the scene. It may remain closed into the weekend.

Franklin Basin Road will remain open, to accommodate hunters and runners with the Bear 100 Trail Race.

The victim’s identity is not being released, pending the ongoing investigation.

Jensen said there is no evidence at this point to believe the public is in any danger.

This story will be updated as additional information is gathered.
