LOGAN – An indoor ticketed event on the Utah State University campus organized by a registered USU student club and Turning Point USA, the American conservative organization formed by the late Charlie Kirk, is still scheduled for Tuesday, September 30.
The venue is not finalized yet.
USU is not affiliated with the speakers or the event and the school’s role is limited to facilitating a safe and secure venue.
USU’s Department of Public Safety is preparing for the event by working with local, state and federal partners to ensure appropriate security measures and protocol are in place.
USU upholds a strong commitment to free expression and institutional neutrality, providing a neutral space for recognized student organizations to invite outside speakers, regardless of viewpoint.
Kirk was originally schedule to appear at Utah State on Sept. 30 as part of his group’s American Comeback Tour on college campuses across the country. It is unclear who will appear in Logan representing the organization after Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
A candlelight vigil for Kirk was held at Utah State on Friday, Sept. 12.
