June 1, 1954 — March 20, 2024 (age 69)

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 20, 2024, our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joyce Christensen Germer, passed from this life to the next, surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born June 1, 1954, in Tremonton, Utah, to Willis Ole and Verna Barfuss Christensen. She was the 9th of 12 children born into the family. She graduated from Bear River High School. Joyce married her sweetheart, Scott Germer, in Tremonton, Utah, on November 3, 1972. From this union came four children: LaDawn, Debbie, Tina, and Jeff.

She was a wonderful homemaker, cook, and hard worker. She spent countless hours working alongside Scott on the family farm, and always made sure everyone around her was taken care of. She loved road trips, Elvis Presley, family dinners, and the color pink. She made friends everywhere she went.

She loved her family more than anything. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her happiest days were spent with her grandkids. We will all miss her dearly and look forward to the day we can be with her again.

Joyce is survived by three children: LaDawn (Jason) Scherbel, Layton; Tina (Jeremy) Hewlett, Perry; Jeff Germer, Deweyville. Grandchildren: Riley, Brooks, Rachel, Mickell, Olivia, James, and Sierra. Siblings: Paul (Lana) Christensen, Gay (Lynn) Larson, Lynn (Sandy) Christensen, Reed (Linda) Christensen, Bonnie (Curtis) Starr, Garth (Kristine) Christensen, Neil (Mary Kate) Christensen, Annette (Steve) Rich; Kevin Christensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Scott; infant daughter, Debbie; sisters, Carole Butcher and Helen Christensen.

The family wishes to thank those that helped in her care during these last few months. You brought her a great amount of comfort and she was so thankful for your friendship and love. We will forever be grateful.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M, at Rudd Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.

No formal funeral will be held per Joyce’s final wishes.

Interment in the Deweyville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home.
