BOISE — Idaho Gov. Brad Little filed his declaration of candidacy Tuesday with the Idaho Secretary of State, formally launching his bid for re-election and securing a spot on the May 19 Republican primary ballot.
Little, a Republican serving his second term, said he intends to continue advancing what he described as a record of tax relief, regulatory reform and investments in education and public safety.
“Teresa and I are honored to serve the people of Idaho. Together, we’ve made Idaho the most prosperous state in the nation while fiercely defending our enduring core values — faith, family, and freedom. We delivered historic tax relief and made record investments in schools, public safety, and infrastructure to protect our exceptional quality of life. And we’re not slowing down — Idaho will continue leading the nation in cutting red tape and expanding freedom,” Little said in a statement announcing his candidacy.
His campaign reported nearly $1.5 million on hand, supported by donors from all 44 Idaho counties. Little previously set a gubernatorial fundraising record during his 2022 campaign.
“I am continually humbled by the support we receive for our vision and campaign,” Little said. “I am especially grateful for the endorsement of President Donald Trump, and I appreciate his support for the commonsense values we are advancing here in Idaho.
“I am committed to continuing the important work of strengthening our economy and making investments where they count. Together, we can ensure our children and grandchildren continue to choose Idaho to build their lives and raise their families right here at home.”
Little said he will formally kick off his campaign following the conclusion of the current legislative session. He said he remains focused on implementing his “Enduring Idaho” plan, which emphasizes fiscal responsibility, education, workforce training and long-term economic growth.
The Republican primary is scheduled for May 19.
