LOGAN — The Logan Library has been in their current temporary location since the end of January at the Logan City Service Center at 950 West 600 North.

On KVNU’s For the People program last week, library director Karen Clark gave us an update on how it’s been going.  She said it’s a little cramped but they’re making it work.

“Mostly we’ve put out children’s things, because children are visual readers, so they like to see the cover and the pictures of the books. So, we’ve put out a lot of children’s things on our smaller carts in the lobby area, and the kids come and look at them. It’s worked out well, we’re just really tight,” she said.

Clark said they’re continuing with some of their programs such as Storytime, that is held at the Thatcher Mansion.

The old library building is gone now, and she invites residents to the groundbreaking for the new 35-thousand square foot library at the same 255 North Main location, on Monday morning at 1130a.m.

“We’ll do a little ceremony, and we’ll have a few activities for the kids, so it will be a fun time. But we’re just going to set us off for our ground-breaking.”

The event will be held on the plaza, on the west side of the construction site.

At the ceremony, Logan Mayor Holly Daines is scheduled to announce a significant lead gift and other generous contributions to kick-off the fundraising campaign.
