MILLVILLE – The Cache County Republicans will host a Flag Day program featuring media personality Glenn Beck on Tuesday, June 14.

The free event is scheduled for Ridgeline High School in Millville at 6:30 p.m.

County GOP chair Shellie Giddings said she’s “super-excited’ about Beck’s appearance.

Beck is a leading American radio and television political commentator, where he is a staunch defender of the Constitution, individual liberties and traditional American values.

He is also a best-selling author.

Under various names and formats, Beck’s news talk and political opinion show was televised by the Cable News Network from 2006 to 2008, then switched to Fox News Network from 2009 to 2011.

He is currently featured on Blaze Media, a multiplatform news and entertainment network that he founded in 2018. His weekly three-hour radio program airs on KVNU on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Beck’s appearances here in Cache Valley have sometimes been controversial. After he was announced as principal speaker at Logan City’s annual 4th of July celebration in 2014, three members of the Logan City Council disavowed Beck’s participation in the event.

They issued a statement saying: “Participants who would politicize an event, regardless of their place on the political spectrum, should not be part of tax-payer funded and city-sponsored events.”

Giddings promised that Beck’s appearance at the GOP’s Flag Day celebration will be memorable.

She added that residents can reserve seats for Beck’s appearance by going to the Cache County Republican website at https://cachegop.com

Ridgeline High School is located at 180 North, 300 West in Millville.
