LOGAN — A 57-year-old Orlando, Florida man has admitted to sexting with a Cache County Sheriff’s deputy, posing as a 10-year-old girl. Satish Kumar Pilla was originally booked briefly into the Cache County Jail in February, after a warrant for his arrest was issued by a judge.
According to court records, Pilla appeared July 16 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to enticing a minor, amended to a third-degree felony. Four remaining charges were dismissed.
According to prosecutors, Pilla began sending messages to an undercover deputy in September 2024. The deputy had created a Snapchat profile, depicting a young girl.
Pilla originally told the deputy he was a 20-year-old man, living in Dallas, Texas. He asked the supposed girl to participate in a “biology experiment,” directing her to inappropriately touch herself.
The messages reportedly continued with Pilla sending several videos of his groin and genitals. He also asked the undercover deputy to send naked pictures of herself.
The deputy noted that Pilla’s messages were highly predatory and disturbing in nature. The sheriff’s office received a warrant and was able to track the Snapchat account to an IP address at the defendant’s residence.
Pilla is currently out of jail on pre-trial supervision. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 17 and could face up to one year in prison.
