June 14, 1939 ~ September 25, 2023 (age 84)
Eva Karen Nisonger, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023. Born to Frank and Eva Whittle Hardwick on June 14, 1939, in Salinas, California, Eva, affectionately known as Karen, was a beacon of generosity and displayed talent throughout her life. She spent her lifetime in service to her family, friends, and country. She always prioritized her attention to those who needed her help the most.
Karen was the proud owner of Karen’s Decorating, a custom drapes and blinds business that showcased her creativity and business acumen. She was a dedicated member of the Republican National Committee, served as a state delegate, and was the lesson leader for the Daughter’s of the Utah Pioneers in Brigham City. Her commitment to her community was unwavering, and her ability to balance her professional and civic responsibilities was a testament to her strength and determination.
As generous as she was talented, Karen loved to host annual Christmas dinners at PF Changs, inviting all the female members of her family to exchange gifts and celebrate the season. She deeply loved and looked forward to the annual Hardwick reunion and cherished the memories created there. Karen had a passion for playing bridge, pickleball, and taking pleasure in simple joys like cooking, traveling, and spending time in her beautiful yard. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed being a ministering sister and a primary pianist. Her heart was happiest when she was spending time with her husband, sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dan Sr., their children Dan (Laurie) Nisonger, Jr. and Catherine (Matthew) Clark; grandchildren Lindsey Mohlman, Paul Nisonger, Hannah Clark, Lizzi Lewis, Dallas Clark, Rebecca Clark, Alexander Clark, John Clark, Sophia Clark, Victoria Clark; great-grandchildren Annabelle Elyse Wright, Wesley Richard Mohlman, Henry Thomas Mohlman.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank Hardwick, mother Eva Whittle Hardwick, and sister Barbara Jean Whiteley.
