September 5, 1976 – March 9, 2024 (age 47)

Eric Jay Burbank, age 47, passed away on March 9, 2024 while on vacation in Costa Rica with his wife and friends. Eric was born on September 5, 1976 to his parents Leon and Dixie in Preston, Idaho.

Eric grew up in Preston Idaho where he enjoyed participating in archery, motocross, and snowmobiling. Eric enjoyed bear and whitetail hunting in Idaho with his dad and brothers. He could often be found supporting his kids in their various activities including track, soccer, football, wrestling, and rodeo. Eric and Mary spent many weekends camping in the mountains with their family and friends. In the last year he finished his man cave A.K.A the shop. He spent hours with his family working on trailers, dirtbikes and his family’s project vehicles. He taught them all many lessons in the shop and these lessons will last a lifetime.

At the time of his death, Eric worked at Compass Minerals where he made many wonderful friends. He was passionate about his electrical career and often came to the rescue of family members and friends whenever they needed his help. We always knew we could count on him to help us when we found ourselves in a bind. He was also the second largest contributor to charity in the company. He donated to the Boys and Girls Club as he had a soft spot for kids.
