LOGAN — A house fire in Nibley sent residents fleeing into the early morning air Wednesday morning, though officials report everyone inside evacuated safely.
According to emergency radio communication, firefighters were dispatched around 5:20 a.m. to a residence at 2780 S. Main St. after initial 911 callers reported seeing heavy smoke rising from the back porch of the home.
By the time the first crews arrived on scene, flames were visible shooting up from the rear of the house and quickly spreading toward the roofline. Firefighters immediately initiated a defensive attack to knock down the fire and keep it from completely engulfing the structure.
All occupants inside the home managed to escape before emergency units arrived, and no injuries were immediately reported.
Traffic along Main Street was partially blocked as firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The cause of the blaze and a full estimate of the monetary property loss remain under investigation.
