Dennis Emery Nelson (70) of Tremonton, Utah passed away on February 29, 2024.
Dennis was born on December 20, 1953, in Tremonton, Utah to parents Emery LeGrande & Dorothy Leona Heath Nelson.
Dennis graduated from Bear River High School in 1972. He then entered the Army later that year. He served in the United States Army as a Private 1st class with the 82nd Airborne for 3 years. After his service he attended Weber State University for Logistics, Transportation, and Warehousing.
Throughout his life, Dennis lived in many places such as Tremonton, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, and then returned to live in Tremonton. He worked in sales, working for Thiokol Chemical Corp, Autoliv, and retiring from Union Pacific Railroad in 2019.
Dennis married the love of his life, Karen Sue Bess on May 13, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dennis had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved to read, play and watch sports, garden, farm, watch classic TV shows, listen to rock music, and spend quality time with his family.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dennis is survived by his sons Eric Dennis & Jeremy LeGrande Nelson; mother-in-law Wanda Barks; sisters Sharon (Jerry Johnsen) and Carolyn Nelson; uncle Dr. Ralph Heath; many loving cousins; two sisters-in-law and their families; niece Andrea Greenhalgh; and nephew Chris Johnsen.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Sue Bess; parents; grandparents; and seven cousins.
Memorial services with military honors will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Rudd Funeral Home – Tremonton (111 N 100 E Tremonton, Utah 84337).
A visitation will be held prior to the services from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm also at Rudd Funeral Home – Tremonton.
