The 113th Congress convened for the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate on Thursday and 1st District Congressman Rob Bishop, R-Utah, was among those sworn in during the official ceremony that took place in the U.S. House Chamber.

Bishop was elected in November for a sixth two-year term. Speaker of the House John Boehner officially requested that the Republican Congressman return to the powerful House Rules Committee.

Bishop will serve on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee where he will be Chairman of the Public Lands and Environmental Regulation subcommittee.
