It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Clinton E. Matt of Brigham City, Utah, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on March 25, 2022, at the age of 101, at his home, surrounded by family members. He was born on March 6, 1921, to John and Hattie Rose Williams Matt in St. Louis, MO.

Clinton was an Army World War II Veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre in the Philippines and Okinawa. Clinton was the recipient of two Bronze Stars for these actions.

He married Dorothy Lee Leaders in September 1946 in St. Louis, MO. They were married for 10 years and then divorced. He later married Aline Hilda Huber Matt on June 27, 1964. They were married for 50 wonderful years. She later passed on March 31, 2014.

He lived in Missouri, California, and Utah. He was raised Baptist.

He enjoyed repairing and reselling old cars. He loved to fix all the neighborhood kid’s bikes, build model airplanes, and make wood projects for family members and grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice, especially Lily, Morgan, Reagan, and Mendy.

He was predeceased by his wife: Aline; siblings: Clara Earl and Dorothy Harvey; stepdaughter: Barbara Barton (Whitten); grandson: Steven Barton; and granddaughter: Tina Creer.

He is survived by his four children: William (Beverlee) Whitten, Linda Matt Wallace, Randy (DeAnn) Matt, and Ronald Matt; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S 100 E, Brigham City, UT, with a graveside service following at 1:00 p.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 E 300 S, Brigham City, UT.
