LOGAN – The Parks & Recreation Division of Logan City is seeking applicants for summer employment at the Logan Aquatic Center.

Those jobs offer a variety of employment positions, a fun working environment and flexible hours, according to a recent Facebook posting from the city.

Up for grabs are a number of positions including lifeguards; lifeguard shift leader; swim lesson coordinator; swim lesson instructor; water aerobics instructor; attendant/cashier; custodian; and, custodial aide.

A majority of those jobs are part-time positions and compensation ranges from $9 to $16 per hour depending on the responsibilities involved.

During its summer season, the Aquatic Center provides a variety of programs including swimming lessons, water aerobics, a hydro-fit class, lap swimming, fit-for-life seniors and Boy Scouts of America merit badge classes.

Lifeguard training and water safety instruction are also offered.

The Aquatic Center accommodates a maximum capacity of approximately 1,200 people. It features 800,000 gallons of water in three separate pools – a 50-Meter, Olympic-size lap pool measuring 50 meters by 25 yards; a leisure/kiddy pool with depths ranging from 6 inches to 3 feet; and a speed slide pool.

During the summer of 2023, facilities at the Logan Aquatic Center were occasionally limited due to the lack of sufficient lifeguard staffing to safeguard patrons and their children.

The Aquatic Center’s 2024 season will open on Saturday, May 25.
