SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the location for its upcoming Spanish Fork Utah Temple.
The new structure will be built on an 8.7-acre site at the intersection of 100 South and 2550 East. Plans for the project include a multistory building of approximately 80,000 square feet and an accompanying ancillary building. While the location has been finalized, church officials noted that an exterior rendering will be shared at a later date.
President Russell M. Nelson first announced the temple in April 2025, emphasizing that regular worship in the house of the Lord increases an individual’s capacity for virtue and charity.
Utah currently serves as home to nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints. With the addition of the Spanish Fork project, there are now 32 temples in the state that are either in operation, under renovation, under construction, or announced. Unlike local meetinghouses used for weekly services, temples are considered sacred houses of the Lord where ceremonies such as marriages and baptisms unite families for eternity.
