Logan’s Child and Family Support Center will expand services in Hyrum when the renovation of its facility there is complete in March, 2015.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Hyrum Center expansion is Wednesday, 4:30-5 p.m., at 10 North 600 West in Hyrum.

“We will perform a traditional ceremony with local legislators on hand who helped us get the funding to start this project,” said Esterlee Molyneux, director of the center.

“Our goal is to grow with the community and provide easily accessible services to the good families and children at the south end of Cache Valley.”

Molyneux said the Child and Family Support Center exists to strengthen families and protect children.

The current Hyrum Center includes a small nursery available now for parents, open Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 8 p.m.

“We have been teaching a variety of educational classes, parenting classes and step family classes. There are also classes for children on social skills, anger management and self esteem. The courses are taught in both English and Spanish.”

She said there is enough funding available to purchase the materials for the renovation.

“We are looking for people to come and serve, to donate time, donate labor. Anybody who can hang sheet rock, paint or cleanup, we need the help. Mark Ferguson is donating his time and will act as the general contractor.”
