Chuck was born in Billings, Montana on October 17, 1941, and was raised in the San Francisco area. He received an associate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from San Francisco City College. Most of his career was spent as a restaurant manager and he was a wonderful cook.

While in his twenties he loved hanging around the docks in Sausalito, CA. and was thrilled to become a member of the crew on Sterling Hayden’s schooner ‘The Wanderer.’ He developed a deep attachment for the ocean and sailing and was able to deliver sailboats from California to Hawaii and he fell in love with the Hawaiian Islands. Chuck settled on Maui where he was the restaurant manager for the Maui Hilton Steak House. That is where he met Kathleen (Kathy) Brownrigg. They were married in Lahaina, Maui on March 7, 1970. Their first daughter, Kalei, was born when they lived there. He spent their 52nd and final wedding anniversary with his sweetheart by his side.

Some of the happiest years of his early life were spent with his Uncle Gene, Aunt Dixie, and his cousin Ron Sears in Montana. Missing his family and the mountains, he moved the family to Big Sky, MT. where Charcie was born. Their first home was a rustic cabin on the Gallatin River.

His love of water brought him to be Houseboat Manager at Bull Frog Resort and Marina UT. for a season and the co-owner of a houseboat rental business on Lake Coeur d Alene, ID. His occupations were varied and included owning a disco, driving a commercial truck, and running the food truck, Bread Barn at many regional events. Chuck would often tell his kids ‘A little hard work never hurt anyone’ and truly lived by his motto.

The family settled in Suncrest in Nine Mile Falls, WA. where Shane was born and the family lived there for almost 40 years. His favorite times were spent boating on Long Lake and cooking for friends and family.

Chuck managed various restaurants in the Spokane area. He became a realtor in 1990 and retired from his real estate career in 2016.

He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the family was sealed together in the Seattle temple in April 1991. It was a well-known secret at church that Chuck made deals with all their Bishops that he would do cooking for any activity as long as he was not asked to speak in church.

Chuck had a sense of humor and was known for his quick wit. He looked for ways to help others and it wasn’t uncommon to find him pulling people up ‘Big Sandy’ in the winter. ‘Chuck Fuller Stories’ were a favorite among friends and family, and no one could tell a tale like he could. He opened their home to people who needed somewhere to land and did his best to take care of others.

He loved traveling, especially to Montana and Hawaii, and visiting many places including Park City and St. George UT., Sedona AZ., Banff B.C., Yellowstone, Glacier, Bryce and Zion National Parks, and a Church History Tour on the East Coast.

In 2018 Chuck and Kathy moved to Logan, UT. because of his advancing Alzheimer’s Disease. The family would like to thank the loving and supportive staff at Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Chuck and the family, as well as the wonderful friends and members of their ward and community who have helped in his final stage of life.

A Memorial Service is planned for later in the spring, when family members will be able to attend.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at Cache Valley Mortuary.
