LOGAN – Once again, the Cache Valley Visitor’s Bureau is seeking grant applications from local groups to support marketing and new event development activities.
“Our main goal is to increase hotel stays in Cache Valley,” according to Cache Valley Visitor’s Bureau director Julie Hollist Terrill. “So we’re looking for events and marketing that will bring people here overnight.”
Each applicant may receive up to $1,500 total.
Application forms are available at the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, which is located in the Historic Cache County Courthouse.
Applications can also be downloaded at www.explorelogan.com.
The deadline for submission of completed applications is Friday, Mar. 13 at 5 p.m.
The money for the grants comes from transient room taxes collected by hotels in Cache County.
Hollist Terrill reminds grant applicants that the awards are in the form of 2-for-1 matches. For example, if an applicant is awarded $500, they must spend at least $1,000 to receive the full amount.
Grants are available in two categories. The first grant category is toward advertising existing events in markets outside Cache Valley.
The second grant category is for creating new events that will entice visitors to spend at least one night in an area hotel.
Hollist Terrill explains that preference will be given to qualifying events held from Oct. 1, 2026 to May 15, 2027, which are traditionally slower months for local hoteliers.
Out of area marketing funds assist events, activities, festivals, conferences and programs with advertising efforts outside Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Franklin and Bear Lake counties.
Previous grant awards have been made to organizations presenting outdoor events, art displays and festivals such as Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center, the Top of Utah Marathon, the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, the Cache Valley Cruise-In and others.
Event development funds must be used toward expenses to establish a new attraction, event, activity, festival or program to be held in Cache Valley. Organizations may receive event development funding for a maximum of three years.
Previous event development awards have been made to the Mt. Ogden Kennel Club Dog Show (which is held in Logan), the Gran Fondo, the Prodigy Brewing’s Community Craft Beer Fest and Pub Crawl, the Cache Valley Historic Home Show Tour, the Cache Bash softball tournament, the Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous and others.
