SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation (DOR) has announced its 2025 Grant Workshop Tour, a statewide effort to help local governments, nonprofits and recreation advocates secure funding for outdoor spaces and infrastructure.

The 13-stop tour begins Monday, Nov. 17, in Duchesne and will include a Cache Valley workshop in Hyrum on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hyrum Civic Center, 83 W. Main St.

Patrick Morrison, DOR’s recreation grants program director, said the workshops are designed to make the process more approachable and practical.

“Our goal is to make the grant process approachable and practical for everyone working to improve outdoor recreation in Utah,” Morrison said. “By taking this tour on the road and meeting people where they are, we’re showing our commitment to both rural and urban communities.”

Each workshop will offer an overview of available funding, including the Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant, OHV Recreation Grant, Recreation Trails Program, Land and Water Conservation Fund, Outdoor Recreation Planning Assistance Grant, Utah Children’s Outdoor Recreation and Education Grant, and Utah Boating Access and Clean Vessel Act Grants. Participants will receive guidance on eligibility, budgeting, and reimbursement, as well as one-on-one time with DOR grant staff.

In 2025, DOR awarded nearly $18 million through the Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant and more than $5 million in OHV Recreation grants statewide. Since 2015, the agency has funded more than 1,000 outdoor projects totaling over $100 million.

Registration for the event is required. More details and RSVP information are available at recreation.utah.gov/grants.
