LOGAN – In addition to the outstanding performances coming here as part of its National Touring Season, the Cache Valley Center for the Arts has begun filling in the rest of its 2024-25 schedule with other touring attractions.
One of the first of those will be the talented dancers of A Taste of Ireland on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Ellen Eccles Theatre.
Still hot from its Off-Broadway premiere, A Taste of Ireland merges Celtic cultural traditions, modern flair and good times galore to deliver a performance that has been leaving audiences spellbound across the globe for the last decade.
The cast of A Taste of Ireland includes former World Irish dance champions and dancers from the West End of London theatre district’s acclaimed productions of Lord of the Dance and Riverdance.
The ensemble now performing in their first-ever tour of the United States is directed by Brent Pace, with music by Charlie Galloway.
The Taste of Ireland company features dancers Gavin Shevlin, Sean Michael McHugh, Ciara Loughran, Luke Chaumont, Blaine Donovan, Karaleigh Desmond, Liam Fitzgerald, Ella Giammichele, Rochelle Hoffman, Callum O’Neill, Fiona Reynolds and Tyler Watkins, plus musicians Charlie Galloway and Erin Rae.
Their singing and dancing will bridge the gap between storytelling, modern Irish dance, tap and contemporary dance styles to tell a historic story, live on stage.
Featuring revamped classics songs like of “Danny Boy,” “Tell Me Ma,” “Wild Rover” and many more, the show’s re-imagined contemporary score blossoms alongside the brash Irish charm of the live dance cast.
A promotional blog promises that audiences will “… witness the birth of a nation told through rhythm and beat.”
From the cry of the Vikings brought to defeat to the rise and fall of rebellions, the show tells the tale of Irish folk who danced to express their desire for independence from foreign oppressors.
From a storied nation that fought itself free, A Taste of Ireland is a night full of glee, passion and fire.
