BRIGHAM CITY — Steves & Sons has completed a 100,000-square-foot expansion of its advanced production facility in Brigham City, strengthening its position in the Mountain West’s surging housing market.

The San Antonio-based company, which is the oldest millwork manufacturer in the U.S. under continuous family ownership, says the expansion includes a new robotic prime line, additional warehousing, and streamlined material flow. The investment is part of a broader growth strategy aimed at serving the region’s booming population and housing needs.

“This expansion is more than just additional space — it represents our growth, our forward-looking strategy and, above all, our dedication to the customers we serve,” said Chief Operating Officer Scott Lovett.

The Mountain West has experienced significant population increases in recent years. From 2020 to 2024, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Utah added more than 967,000 residents and over 512,000 new housing units, according to company figures.

Leading the expanded Utah operations is Nick Palmer, a Utah native who was named general manager in July. He now oversees 135 employees at the Brigham City site.

“As demand for housing continues to increase across the region, we are aggressively investing in the infrastructure needed to remain a reliable, responsive and innovative partner in meeting that growth,” Palmer said.

Recent data shows cities such as Boise, Denver and Phoenix are among the top in the U.S. for new building permits issued in 2025.

Steves & Sons’ expansion in Northern Utah adds to the region’s ongoing investment in manufacturing and innovation. Brigham City, located in Box Elder County, is near several strategic industrial hubs and benefits from Utah’s strong economic performance and infrastructure rankings.
