BOX ELDER COUNTY — The annual awards banquet hosted by the Box Elder Chamber of Commerce is this Friday night, but unfortunately is sold out.  That is perhaps an example of how good business is doing in Box Elder County.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, chamber executive Monica Holdaway said it’s a pretty exciting time.

“It is, it’s gone really well and we have loved the growth and the diversity we have here in our community with the different businesses. It’s just been amazing and I’ve been working here for 20 years, and to see the difference from 20 years ago to today is pretty amazing, ”  explained Holdaway.

She said they have been able to capture a lot of their large manufacturers, and with that comes the retail, restaurants that come in to help support those businesses and employees.

“But being from Box Elder County, I know that we have really diversified, back when Brigham City was just starting, it was really Thiokol and Morton-Thiokol that was the large business, and now we have 10 to 12 large businesses that all employ hundreds of people, and so through that diversity we’ve just become more and more economically sound.”

You can see what they have planned on their calendar and things for visitors to do as well at BoxElderChamber.com.
