PRESTON-Barrel & Stave is having an one anniversary celebration on Jan they will have a food tasting table, plenty to drink and live music. They are a wine, whiskey and cocktail bar located on 33 Federal Avenue in Logan City .

The celebration will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, January 26, 27 and 28. Doors open at 4 p.m. and close at midnight except on Friday and Saturday when they close at 1a.m. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
General Manager Molly Mansfield said Barney Northrop is the executive chef and he has worked at most of the higher end restaurants in the valley. Mansfield said there are a lot of people that just come in because they know how Barney cooks meals taste.
“He is a local guy, born and raised in Cache Valley and he serves an elegant meal,” she said. “He usually serves a main plate, vegetable plate, a NOKA special and a dessert.”
He is an artist when it comes to the presentation of the meal.
Most of his ingredients for his creations are purchased from local companies. Even the flour he use to make bread is from Central Milling in Logan.
He is committed to supporting local farmers.
“I love the crowd that comes in here,” she said. “I’ve worked a lot of other places, but I’ve never worked round the kind of people that we have in Logan.”

Kristin Smith, one of the owners said they the place looks a lot different than when it was Mulligans. The updated everything but the painting on the wall. They did have the painting up touched up by a local artist.
“We purchased Mulligans in 2021 and did some extensive remodeling,” she said. “We opened in 2022 as a very relaxed speakeasy where people can come hang with friends.”
There are no TVs on the walls, it’s a fun place to come meet friends eat, drink and hang out.
“We went through and did an extensive remodel we kept the mural from Mulligans,” Smith said. “We spruced it up and made it more of a speak easy vibe.”
The have had several local events so far this year like fundraisers, candidate nights and other community type occasions.
“What makes us different is our relaxed atmospheres,” Smith said. “People just come up and talk land taste the amazing bites and drink our wines and whiskeys.
Barrel & Stave is a bar, so you must be 21 to enter the place. The customers seem to be a lot of young professionals or a more sophisticated crowd. They serve non-alcoholic drinks, but customers still have to be 21 to enter.
“We certainly have robust clientele,” she said. “A number of folks want to come in and have Barneys’ food and have that experience.”

The owners also own Prodigy Brewing at 25 West Center Street.
The establishment has four owners. Three of them are local and one is from out of town.
