Fay Smith Kearl, 96, passed away Monday, June 13, at the home of her daughter Laurie in Brigham City.

She was born April 11, 1926 in Hyrum City, Utah, a daughter of Glenn A. Smith and Velda (Newbold) Smith. Fay married the love her life Cyril Pitcher Kearl on November 11, 1948 in Smithfield. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She lived in Hyrum, Ogden, North Ogden, and Tremonton. She was a beautician for the rest home in Hyrum and worked as a waitress at Sandy’s and Western Trails in Tremonton. The greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She loved to be outside in the yard and garden. Fay loved to make handmade quilts and cross stitch. She loved canning and making Jam. She loved cats and would take in any stray that stopped by. She was a member of the LDS Church as well as the Hyrum Saddle Club where she cooked scones for everyone.

Fay was preceded in death by her husband Sid, her parents, and sister, Jean Seamons.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas (Barbara) Kearl Tremonton; Steven (Sarah) Kearl Riverside; three daughters: Trudy (Jack) Brown, Hyrum; Sherrie (Doug) Rhodes, Kamas; Laurie (Dori) Kearl, Brigham City. 19 Grandchildren, 39 Great grandchildren and 8 Great Great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Cleve (Karol) Smith of Malta, ID.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11 A.M. with viewings held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 6-8 P.M. and prior to the service Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10-10:45 A.M.

All services will be held at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E- Tremonton).

Interment will be in the Hyrum Cemetery.
