LOGAN — A 21-year-old Nibley man has been charged with allegedly raping a 13-year-old boy several times between 2023 and 2024, according to law enforcement. Kaden S. Hawk was booked into the Cache County Jail after a warrant was issued by a judge for his arrest.

According to the warrant affidavit, Cache County Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a possible sexual assault involving a teenage boy. The alleged victim had disclosed to family members, he had been molested and raped by Hawk, a relative.

The boy described how Hawk would enter his bedroom late at night and molest him while watching pornography. The incidents continued to escalate with the suspect allegedly forcing him to engage in various sexual activities.

Individuals arrested and charged in complaints are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

Family members reportedly confronted Hawk about the allegations, who allegedly admitted to having a problem with pornography. The family said the Nibley man became remorseful and emotional, saying how sorry he was for what had happened.

Deputies later questioned Hawk as part of the investigation. During the interview, his whole body appeared to be shaking and he would not make eye contact with the deputy, and later invoked his Miranda rights.

According to court records, Hawk appeared Dec. 1 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He is charged with three counts of sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony. He is scheduled to appear again Jan. 5 for a preliminary hearing, when a judge will determine whether or not prosecutors have sufficient evidence to justify the charges.
