LOGAN – Once again, local favorites the Bear River Ramblers will be one of the headliners at Logan City’s all-day festivities to celebrate Pioneer Day on Thursday, July 24 at Willow/Horseshoe Park.
Based here in Logan, the folk/bluegrass/country band has been performing together for more than five years throughout Utah and southern Idaho.
The Bear River Ramblers will appear on the Willow Park stage from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
That band’s performance will be followed by the Smithfield-based ensemble Mile Marker 6, who are billed as one of Utah’s hottest county musicians.
Mile Marker 6 is slated to perform from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by the singer and fiddle player Michelle Lambert at 8:30 p.m.
The city’s Pioneer Day celebration will kick-off with early-morning 1-mile and 3-mile Fun Runs.
Registration for those events will begin at 7 a.m. in the park. The non-competitive races will begin at 7:30 a.m.
The morning’s activities will also include an open-grass volley tournament. Registration for the competition will begin at 7:15 a.m. in the park, with matches to follow at 8 a.m.
Other slated competitions include 3-on-3 basketball and soccer tournaments, a horseshoe pitching tournament and a corn-hole tournament.
Those events will take place on the Willow Park Quad. Registration for those tournaments will begin at 8:30 am with competition to follow beginning at 9 a.m.
A Family Fun Cardio Jam event is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
The city’s annual Pioneer Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m.
The parade’s route starts at the corner of Center Street and 100 West, proceeds west on Center St. to 500 West, continues to 700 South and ends at Willow Park.
Food and craft booths at Willow Park will open for business between 10 and 11 a.m.
Family fun will fill the afternoon at Willow Park. Pioneer Crafts & Games will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Candy Cannon will be manned for kids 12 and under starting at 12 p.m.
A Bingo Bonanza will take place at 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the Willow Park Stage.
The city’s Pioneer Day Celebration will climax with a free public fireworks display at 10 p.m.
