SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Workforce Services is offering job seekers across the state a chance to connect with more than 40 employers through a statewide virtual job fair on Thursday, July 10.

The no-cost online event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and feature more than 1,500 open positions across industries such as education, health care, banking, hospitality, construction and government.

“This is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to meet employers from a variety of industries around the state,” said Liz Carver, director of the department’s Workforce Development Division. “Participants can engage in multiple interviews and receive job offers.”

Participants can access the fair through their computers or smartphones. Once logged in, they’ll be able to browse a digital floor plan featuring virtual booths, where employers will post company profiles, current job openings, and links to social media accounts. Attendees can chat with hiring representatives, upload resumes and even participate in live video interviews.

Job seekers are encouraged to register in advance by creating or signing into a “my Job Search” account at jobs.utah.gov. The department will also host two online workshops on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to help applicants make the most of the virtual job fair.

While the event is statewide, job seekers in Northern Utah—including those in Cache Valley and Logan—are encouraged to participate. Openings include positions throughout the region.

In addition to the job fair, Workforce Services maintains more than 25,000 job listings online and at local employment centers. Employers interested in joining the event can contact their local workforce development specialist through the site.
