LOGAN – As promised, the ongoing Logan City sewer repair/replacement project will shift from 200 North to 400 North over the upcoming May 17 to 18 weekend.

City officials say that the westbound lane of 200 North, which has been closed since early March, will reopen to through traffic by the end of the day on Saturday, May 17.

The next phase of the project, which will impact traffic on 400 North from the intersection of Main Street to 700 East, will begin during the evening hours of Sunday, May 18.

To being, north-south traffic on Main Street will not be allowed to proceed through the intersection at 400 North from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists will be directed to detours on 100 West and 100 East while the intersection is blocked.

When the sewer repair/replacement effort moves east along 400 North, much of that construction is also planned to be accomplishment during evening hours.

City officials say the repair effort will close the eastbound right and center turn lanes of 400 North. Two-way traffic on street will still be open, but project managers acknowledge that there will be intermittent restricted access to some local businesses and parking on the road’s shoulders will also be restricted.

The repair effort on 400 North east of Main Street is expected to continue until September.
