LOGAN – Utah State University’s 137th commencement is Thursday and Friday of this week.

This year’s commencement speaker, Gail Miller, is owner of the Larry H. Miller Company and a renowned philanthropist. She will receive an honorary doctorate.

Also receiving honorary degrees will be Darren Perry, former chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, and Bruce Carlson, retired general in the U.S. Air Force and now chair of the Space Dynamics Lab Board of Directors and chair of the SDL Guidance Council.

The annual procession from the Quad will begin at 8:15 a.m. Thursday May 2, arriving in time for the commencement ceremony which begins at 9 a.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Hooding ceremonies and college invocations will begin Thursday afternoon and run through Friday, May 3.

In addition to awarding honorary degrees, the commencement ceremony will also include faculty awards and speeches by students and dignitaries.
