LOGAN – Do you think that you know all there is to know about Hollywood movies filmed here in Utah?
Then you’ll get your chance to prove it when the Cache Bar hosts “Utah Film Trivia Night” on Tuesday, May. 7.
That event, sponsored by Utah Public Radio, will give five-member teams the chance to test their knowledge in an evening featuring competitive pub trivia, delicious food, prizes and even a costume contest.
Everybody knows about recent blockbusters like “Thelma and Louise,” “The Electric Horseman” and “Footloose.”
Well, relatively recent, that is.
The really recent “Yellowstone” series was also created right here in Utah.
But do you remember “Three O’clock High?”
What about going way back to the John Wayne epic “The Conqueror,” directed by Dick Powell and produced by Howard Hughes in the late 1950s?
Utah has deep roots in the entertainment industry, with thousands of productions filmed in the state since the 1920s, according to the Utah Film Commission.
In addition to more than 84,000 square miles of diverse and unique landscapes, Utah also offers movie-makers competitive incentive programs, trained film crews and professional vendors.
From student productions to studio blockbusters, the Utah Film Commission can help producers find whatever is needed. As proof of that, Utah is will host more than 50 crews filming motion pictures, television and cable productions, plus numerous commercials in 2024.
On “Utah Film Trivia Night,” the doors at the Cache Bar will open at 6 p.m, with the trivia contest starting at 7 p.m.
