Jared Smith and Cyndi Rowland
WebAIM is housed at the Institute for Disability Research within USU’s Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services.
The current WebAIM director, Jared Smith, has been with the organization 24 of its 25 years. Cyndi Rowland, WebAIM founder, said she first understood the need for accessibility while attending a national conference in 1990 dealing with developmental disabilities.
She said today more people are aware of web accessibility than ever before, but there’s still room for growth.
