BOX ELDER COUNTY — One person was killed after being hit by a car on the side of Interstate-15 in Brigham City. The accident was reported Wednesday night.
Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said a car broke down and was parked partially in the lane of 1100 South merging onto I-15.
The driver of the broken down car was outside of their vehicle, which troopers said may have had its lights off.
Roden said another vehicle sideswiped the disabled car, hitting the driver.
Life-saving measures were attempted on the person hit, but they died on scene.
The area of 1100 South was closed but traffic was able to drive around the scene Wednesday night.
The identity of the victim was not released, pending notification of family.
