SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Colleges in Utah have been awarded federal grant money totaling $3 million for student support services.

The U.S. Department of Education on Friday announced the ten grants to eight Utah higher education systems.

Weber State University in Ogden got the largest grant with $401,000.

Salt Lake Community College got two grants, one in the amount of $319,000 for its school system and another for $220,000 for its STEM program.

Utah State University also got two grants, including $292,000 for its Logan campus and about $346,000 for its Eastern Blanding campus.

Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Snow College in Ephraim, Utah Valley University in Orem, University of Utah in Salt Lake City and Dixie State University in St. George also won grants that were among the $270 million awarded nationwide.
