LOGAN  — The Family Place Utah is celebrating their 40th year of helping families and children in Cache Valley.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Thursday, Family Place director Dr. Sheryl Goodey said it’s a great honor to lead such an amazing organization with such strong roots in northern Utah.

She said it’s a very complex organization for the purpose of simplifying the lives of families in our community.

“We have three locations, Smithfield, Logan and Hyrum, and drop in, come and see us and come and see the great work that we’re doing. Or come to our amazing event that’s on April 30th. It’s our annual Blue Ribbon event where we have an elegant dinner and an auction, all in an effort to be able to get donations to be able to provide all the amazing services that we have at the Family Place,” explained Dr. Goodey.

It’s called An Evening Under the Stars and will be held at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan.

According to their website, it’s called the Blue Ribbon Benefit because April is National Child Abuse Prevention month that is recognized with a blue ribbon.
