LOGAN – The 40th annual observance of the Summerfest Arts Faire will take place June 13 to 15 at the Cache County Event Center and Fairgrounds.

But not without the support of local volunteers.

“We are very grateful for all the people who volunteer their help for our event,” says Shirlene Davis, the executive director of the Summerfest Arts Faire. “We couldn’t do it without them.”

The arts faire will feature 165 visual artists, 38 performing groups on two stages and 31 food vendors to feed its participants and attendees.

Each year, Davis explains, hundreds of people help make this event happen and Summerfest can’t be done with out them.

This year, Summerfest needs volunteers in several categories, she adds. They include general individual volunteers, youth and scouting projects, as well as business groups and organizations seeking to provide volunteers.

There are numerous volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups that want to help out.

Davis lists those opportunities as assistance with the children’s hands-on yard arts; booth sitting; hospitality; parking; the plein air painting contest; and bike valet attendants.

“Shifts (for volunteers) generally run two hours,” Davis says. “There are many positions that are perfect for school groups and clubs who wish to provide service.”

Members of the Summerfest Arts Faire board of directors are proud to also work as volunteers during the event, she adds. Each of them take on an area of responsibility for artists, food vendors, hospitality, music, art contests, coordination of volunteers and other duties.

The Summerfest Arts Faire will take place at the Cache County Event Center and Fairgrounds located at 490 South, 500 West in Logan.
