RICH COUNTY – Six people, including two children, were rescued from Bear Lake Saturday morning after their boat caught fire approximately three-quarters of a mile north of the Bear Lake State Park Marina.

The Rich County Public Safety 911 Center received the report at 10:28 a.m. Authorities are investigating whether gas fumes in the engine compartment caused the blaze on the 22-foot Malibu boat.

The Rich County Sheriff’ Office said all four adults and two children on board jumped into the water. Nearby boaters quickly came to their aid and rescued everyone. No injuries were reported. The children were wearing life jackets, and the adults were able to put theirs on while in the water.
