LOGAN – Once again, Logan City officials are seeking the help of a mural artist or artists to decorate bare walls in Logan.
“Logan City is seeking submissions from artists to create a mural for the concessions building at the Willow Park Sport Complex,” according to a July 31 social media post.
The proposed mural is intended to cover all four sides of the structure at 500 West, 700 South in Logan, a total estimated area of 1,092 square feet.
City officials are hoping to receive a mural proposal that highlights the strong recreational history of facility, particularly emphasizing the uses and open space of the sport complex and the greater Willow Park area.
“The total amount for all applicable expenses…shall not exceed $25,000,” the request for proposals reads.
Those expenses will include all fees for consulting with city officials, design costs, transportation and travel, site preparation and priming, execution and installation of the mural, plus an anti-graffiti coating.
The call for submissions is open to all artists, but preference will be given to Utah-based artists or teams that reside within 150 miles of Logan, are at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
The muralist or team will be selected based on artistic excellence; demonstrated skill and quality craftsmanship; resume; strength and originally of concept; and, design proposal.
The deadline for submission of an artist or team’s qualification is Aug. 25. Selection of semi-finalists and the finalist will take place from Sept. 8 to Oct. 13. The installation of the selected mural will begin after April 1, 2026.
